Working as a teacher, I travelled across much of Vietnam, from the Mekong in the south through the midlands and into Ha Giang in the north.
I encountered many different people of a variety of ethnicities and cultures living in varying ways. I was really taken aback by the generosity I generally encountered: the people I would communicate with and photograph were friendly and giving but also curious of who I was, without the sense of fear I admit I initially expected from them making contact with someone so far removed from their lives.
Resourceful, hardworking and smiley - I met some amazing people that I will never forget against some of the most stunning landscapes of that part of South East Asia.
