It's both interesting and unnerving to notice land and infrastructure change so rapidly around you, the places we dwell being carved up, stripped away and rebuilt, with those homes taking on new shapes.

Amongst other things, a 'home' is a place of belonging, where sites and sounds are familiar. When those things change, often on a grand scale and without warning, reality can feel as though it's warping, with those familiarities disappearing: the proverbial rug being pulled from underneath.

There's a sense of helplessness; fighting against a tide. Swept away by the prevail of capitalism. A story a few hundred years in the making and one that we see all too often in the capital.

Everytime I'm back in the Wickm it's easy to see the stark upheaval. This project is something I've been minded to start for a while.
